VISUALIZATION AND IMAGINATION

Staying calm and focused for long is an important aspect in contacting your inner child. Imagination gives us the ability to go back to our inner child and change the elements of past relationships and experiences. The combination of imagination, concentration and being relaxed and calm are called visualization.
Visualization is very similar to meditating; first you should relax your body.
Focus on the muscles of each part and get them to relax starting with your feet and moving up to your head.
Count backward from 10-1 to calm your body
Building trust starts with meeting the inner child, introducing yourself as their future self and being prepared to give them care and love.
First you can think of a place that you would hide as a child or somewhere that you would go when you felt lonely
If you don’t remember then we can make it up by meditation and imagination.
First imagine the place, the colours, the feeling. Then imagine your inner child.
Introduce yourself and tell them that you have come into their daydream as a helper to help them with all the problems of growing up.
At the end, count from 1-10 and let your focus back across your head and all the way down to your toes.

Working With Your Imagination

  • Meeting the inner child and working with, needs a great attention to the details.

  • Also, you must be creative in finding different ways of imagining that works best for you

  • The ability to imagine is a mind skill that we all have but it is different among people.

  • Some people have a visual imagination which is in vivid colour and they can easily see their inner child.

  • Other people have an auditory imagination in which they can hold long conversations in their mind and hear the sounds clear and distinct.

  • Another group of people have Kinaesthetic imaginations which means they can feel, and touch the sense of space.

  • Most of the people have different combinations of the three groups.

  • WHAT IS YOUR TYPE OF IMAGINATION?
