Writing Letters to Your Inner Child

Writing a letter to your inner child allows your inner child to be heard and acknowledged for the unprocessed pain. Also, it allows all the negative feelings to remove them from the darkness of your mind onto the light of the paper. 

  • First, start by getting a paper and something to write with and allow your inner child to express and have its say. 

  • If the child feels angry, allow the words of anger to flow, if the child feels hurt, let him or her to express the pain. 

  • You can also write a letter of forgiveness and tell them how sorry you are that they suffered and were hurt. Also, we can soothe them by telling them how much you care and love them and how wonderful they are. Encourage them to feel safe and do not try to justify or make excuses for the way they feel.
